PhD project: Genetic and molecular analysis of the cross-incompatibility (CI) phenomenon in maize
Objectives:
My research aims at providing a more detailed insight into the genetic and molecular basis of cross incompatibility mediated by the Ga1 gene (s). The specific objectives of research are to answer the following questions:
PhD project: Genetic and molecular analysis of the cross-incompatibility (CI) phenomenon in maize
Objectives:
My research aims at providing a more detailed insight into the genetic and molecular basis of cross incompatibility mediated by the Ga1 gene (s). The specific objectives of research are to answer the following questions:
- Deciphering the complex molecular processes of incompatible and compatible pollination in maize by using transcriptomic datasets;
- Create a general model for the Ga1-mediated CI;
- Exploring the role of genes coding for pectinesterase in compatible and incompatible pollination.
- Integrative annotation and characterization of pectin methylesterase (PME) and pectin methylesterase inhibitor (PMEI) gene families in Maize genome (Manuscript in Preparation)
- DYNAMIC MODULATION ON TRANSCRIPTIONAL NETWORK DURING CROSS-INCOMPATIBILITY OF Gametophyte factor1 (Ga1) LOCUS IN MAIZE (Manuscript in Preparation)
